New Crash Courses [Feb. 23] - Mobile

Postby Peter@uTest » Tue Feb 22, 2011 5:54 pm

In a recent "Call for Authors" for the Crash Courses Program, many uTesters stepped up to the opportunity of contributing their knowledge and expertise. In fact, we have over 25 courses currently in the works and soon to be published. In an effort to roll out the courses in a digestible fashion, we have decided to push out courses category by category. For the first round of courses, Mobile is the theme. Below are the latest courses relating to mobile:

Mobile Testing: iPhone 101 - Author: Dom Wolf
Mobile Testing: Symbian 101 - Author: Julio Alejandro Tristan
Mobile Testing: Android Usability 101 - Author: Chris Polkamp
Tablet Testing: iPad 101 - Author: David Honeyball
Tablet Testing: iPad 102 - Author: David Honeyball

Please join me in thanking our authors! And of course, take a few minutes to go over these new courses. If you benefit from reading these courses, please consider joining us in our next round of Call for Authors in April.

great job guys..

for the ipad.. we should really add a blurb about installing app with provisioning files. that seems to be a sore point with more ipad apps. People don't know how to handle these files and can't install their app.

Hi guys,

Apologies for the delay in replying. It has been a very busy month or two with projects and other work. I have not amended the course to include transferring over .mobileprovision and .app files for installing applications to the iPad.

Additionally, I have put together a course for obtaining crash logs for your iPad. Both of these two I will send to Peter for review..

In answer to the Jailbreak question I am happy to compile a course for that too if you want?

Even though it's now legal to jailbreak in the USA, there are still areas around the world that frown upon jailbreaking.

I wouldn't recommend a course on Jailbreaking; just to keep Apple out of our hair. If they want to jailbreak, it's a quick Google away.
